a home within a home

the pandemic changed a lot of things for everyone. for myself, it made me vastly aware of the risks of being in public spaces with too many people. this fear has not left my mind even now, as the world has more or less agreed that the pandemic is "over"... anyways. being indoors led to a lot of us changing our means of socialization. on a whim, myself and some people i met thru college hopped online to vrchat to talk to some weirdos in public instances. what originally started off as a joke grew into me developing a habit of being in vrchat throughout the week. through this platform, i have met some of my closest friends and dear loved ones. years of friendship has eventually led to me meeting a lot of these people in real life, and that has ultimately improved my quality and outlook on life. to be very dramatic but also simple: virtual reality, specifically platforms like vrchat, saved me from very very dark times.
