LISTENING LOG

most recent notes at the top.

a log of my current listens. will most likely be just albums, but I'll do my best to date everything.

MAY

ISIDA is an experimental DJ and artist from the Network and I absolutely adored their set from Garage30 Radio. I love sets that challenge my hearing capabilities, when I have to pause and focus on a sound or a transition. It's very calming for me to do so as well, and this set really helps me relax and vibe out. I really hope ISIDA does a set in VRChat soon so that I can catch it!

PISS IN THE WIND is in my regular rotation for when I want to listen to music, so much so that I often listen thru the whole album before I even realize that I have. The vibes this whole album exudes, especially on commutes home, are immaculate. I feel like time passes by both slower and faster with this album, with slow being the actual tempo and energy of the song and fast being me not realizing the time go pass as I'm listening to music I very much enjoy.

Favorites on this album right now are PIXELATED KISSES, LAST OF A DYING BREED, PIECE OF YOU ft. GIVEON and FRAGMENTS ft. DON TOLIVER. When I want to listen to specific tracks over and over, it's these ones, but most especially FRAGMENTS ft. DON TOLIVER. That song is a cry out, an earnest plea for the singer and the person he's into to come together and share "pieces" of themselves with each other.

APRIL

Some favs from this album are Call Back and Excavator. When I listen to Call Back, I imagine myself on a balcony of a high rise with my friends, smoking, eating, and just generally having a good time together. It's interesting that I visualize that when the song is clearly about Don Toliver simping over a woman and wanting her to call him back as soon as possible lol. Excavator makes me feel like I'm dancing alone on a roof, hyping myself up for a night of rowdy activities.

I'll be honest, I slept on this album with my first listen. I had it come on and I left it playing on speaker. My first reaction was, "ah well this is really catchy!" It wasn't until my friend Ember set our friend group down for a full album listen during a homie hangout and it went from a catchy album to one that I have fond memories attached to. My personal favs from this album are the intro song E85, Excavator, and Call Back. I'm already on the hunt for potential remixes from this album to come out so that I can rinse them at future sets... hehe.
