surprise motherfucker!

what's up what's up what the fuck is up denny's? alright if you can see this email me and i'll send you a random render.
my start and getting into virtual reality

my introduction into Virtual Reality started off as a joke. myself and some friends i had in college visited public instances of VRChat. it was mostly us laughing at the absurdity of it at the time. now, several years into my VR journey, i have met so many people who are deeply important to me along with a bucket load of amazing experiences that i could never have had anywhere else. it was a crucial component of my life during the pandemic, as it made socializing with people and cultivating community so much easier as countries all over the world called for shutdowns and social distancing.

while VR is very much one of my main hobbies, it is a hobby that i do not easily recommend to people due to its steep initial investments - specifically with how expensive the hardware costs can be.

first of all, you need a VERY good desktop computer. when i say that, i mean you'll want a lot of processing power, as much VRAM as possible - you'll essentially want to be able to fully render these virtual environments. when i get into vrchat, i am putting on a headset, two controllers, and five body trackers (all with small battery packs) just to see myself and my avatar move properly.

in VR, you can express yourself thru your avatars or thru content like worlds for other users to experience. so while the initial investment for this hobby is quite high, the things you can experience - for FREE usually as well - are so worth it. this hobby has given me a better outlook on life, has made me more creative and expressive in general, blessed me with really good friends, and i look forward to the days more than i dread them.

are you looking to get started in Virtual Reality or VRChat? check out the menu on the left. in the third box, click on any of the guides - a collection of tutorials from myself and other members of the VR community.
if you'd like some more perspective on what being in VR is like, please check out the virtual reality blog. there I detail my experiences and thoughts on events and current happenings in VR.
or, maybe you're looking for a group to hangout with? well...

///COME TO LAMBDA_CEPHEI

a virtual reality music venue that hosts events with music from the ambient, experimental, noise, and drone variety, aiming to capture the essence and being of the most luminous stars in the sky.

join the Discord Server!

the name LAMBDA CEPHEI comes from its actual star that exists as part of the full contellation called CEPHEUS. in Greek mythos, Cepheus is the father of the famous princess Andromeda and king of Aethiopia. Lambda Cephei itself is a fifth magnitude blue supergiant star, meaning that it is among one of the hottest stars that we have come to know of!

well, how does that relate to ambient + related music? ambience is a spectrum, a huge genre umbrella that unfolds into so many varieties of expression. stars are kind of similar, in that some are rather intense and burn hotly, while others are not and may be at the end of their journey. we can take inspiration from the stars and treat ambience as a progression of change along with it being a spectrum: there is beauty in its variation.
